For the purpose of evaluating the therapeutic effects of Glutathione (Tathione®) the clinical observations were performed in 25 cases with CO poisoning admitted to the emergency room, Seoul National University Hospital.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. The recovery time of Tathione®- treated group(experimental group: 600mg daily intravenously), was 9. 5 hours. in the control group of 21 patients, it was 55 hours. Accordingly, experimental group; recovered more rapidly than control group.
2. On Considering the complications, only 1 pneumonic patient developed in the,experim al; group, but 13 complicated patients were found in the control group. Therefore the complication rate was low in the treated group.
3. The WBC, count was considered to be high in the complicated patient and especially serum transminase Level was elevated in the myositis complicated patients
4 There was no significant difference in the serum transaminase level between before and after Tathion® treatment.
5. No side effects, were observed during medication.
